Recently, the "Confucius Institute Day" Activity of Universitas Malang of Indonesia is held at UM Sasana Budayya Auditorium. A delegation of 20 persons of Tongren University to Indonesia is invited to the Activity, and put on marvelous performance.
During the event, the students and teachers of Tongren University put on self-written and self-directed performance in traditional Chinese clothes. The program named Drum of Sun is a traditional Miao dance. It displays graceful dancing postures and nice Miao clothes to the audience, and is well received. The Traditional Chinese Clothes Show is the last and most important program of the event. It combines traditional Chinese clothes culture, classic music and calligraphy, and displays to the audience some of the Chinese ethnic traditional clothes including cheongsam, traditional Miao clothes and Chinese Han clothes. During the calligraphy show, the fragrance of ink fills the Auditorium. The vivid interpretation and indulging classic music makes the performance more impressive. The performance of Long Jinfeng and 16 students in traditional ethnic clothes of China marks the climax of the event, and is well received by the applauding audience, who ask to take photos with those teachers and students. The Universitas Malang representatives speak highly of the performance of Tongren University students and teachers, and extend their appreciation to the devoted performers, and present them with cultural T-shirts of Confucius Institute.
Tongren University seizes this opportunity to promote the Chinese ethnic culture, and displays the inspiring spirit and style of its students. Thousand Islands Daily News and other local medias all cover the event with special edition, which raises awareness of Tongren University in Malang, and lays a solid foundation for Tongren University to expand the foreign exchange and cooperation platform. "Tongren University" and "versatile students of Tongren University" are known to more and more people, and they show the best social image of Tongren University.
