On December 13, led by Chuon Narong, deputy director of Office of Human Resources, Division of Personnel, Ministry of Education of Cambodia and other responsible persons, 40 foreign students from Cambodia arrive at the Wujiang School of Agricultural and Forestry Economy of Tongren University. They will study Chinese language at Wujiang School. They are the first foreign students for Wujiang School, and the first foreign students that have chosen to study in a county in Guizhou Province. They serve as a bridge for foreign exchange of undergraduate education of Dejiang County.
On the afternoon of December 13, a brief welcome ceremony is held by the School for the delegation from Cambodia. Luo Hongfang receives the delegation of Chuon Narong, and chairs the forum held to receive the new foreign students from Cambodia. Zheng Gang, director of Education Bureau of Dejiang County, Fu Jiankang, director of the Public Security Bureau, Deng Chongquan, dean of the School, Zhao Chenggang, Wang Hongbin, and other related teachers, foreign students and parent representatives are also present.
After arrival of foreign students at the campus, the volunteers of the School help them with registration, and show them around the campus, including the library, lab and Gastrodia Elata Research Center. The volunteers also lead the foreign students to buy supplies needed for living and study in the downtown of Dejiang County, and make proper arrangement for catering, accommodation and travel of their parents. After dinner, Luo Hongfang and officials of the School visit every dorm of the foreign students, and ask about their opinions on the accommodation and catering, and present them with elaborately prepared desert to show their care.
