Recently, the Water Splashing Festival Activities have been held at Yiren Building Square of Tongren University, as a way to celebrate the traditional festival of the Lao. The activities are jointly sponsored by the Department of Foreign Languages and the Office of International Affairs, and co-organized by the Youth League Committee, the Department of Music, the School of Economy and Management, the School of Information Engineering and the School of Physics and Electronic Engineering. Tian Xingbin, dean of the Department of Foreign Languages, Hu Hui, secretary of General CPC Branch of Tongren University, and all students of the School of Foreign Languages and oversea students from Laos.
The Water Splashing Festival Activities held by Tongren University at the Yiren Building Square have attracted many students to participate. Teachers present wear white ropes for oversea students from Laos as a means of expressing the best wishes. After that, all girls from Laos put on a performance together, and their gentle and graceful dance has been well received by the audience. The hot duo dance has wowed the audience. International knowledge contest has been held as part of the activities. Students are encouraged to answer the questions as quick as possible and those who answer the questions correctly are given small gifts. The "rip the nametag off" game has been played by a lot of participants. At the backstage, tasty traditional Lao food is offered. The last part is the most exciting water splashing game. Some participants use water guns and other use basins to splash water to others as a means of blessing.
