On November 25, the campus looks fantastic with decorations. The words on the rainbow gate say "Welcome students from Laos to Tongren University". Another 84 students from Laos are admitted to Tongren University. They are about to start their rich campus life here, and set off for the journey of dream pursuit.
To ensure the orientation work is carried out in an orderly way, the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and the College of International Studies and Education have organized a dedicated team made up of several old foreign students from Laos. The weather is cold, with chilling wind. At 06:30 in the morning, the orientation team sets off from Tongren University for Yuping Railway Station to wait for the foreign students.
After they arrive at the campus, the responsible persons and volunteers are there to help them. The registration is going on smoothly, and the foreign students go through the registration steps one by one in a orderly way. When its close to the noon, all foreign students go to the dining hall with the meal tickets they've been given. President Hou Changlin and his companions visit the new foreign students and talk with them gently. Hou points out that the foreign students make a splendid landscape of Tongren University and expresses his hope that the students will study hard and have a memorable time here. After graduation, they could act as envoys of friendship for the two countries.
The orientation work has been successful thanks to dedicated efforts of all volunteers.
